Have you ever heard of fruit acids? Do you use them? Many people are aware or have heard about fruit acids, but can be a bit scared of using them because they aren’t sure what they do and think the acids are harsh on skin.  On the contrary, fruit acids are very important for maintaining healthy, youthful skin.
Fruit acids are found in many skincare products including cleansers, toners, serums and moisturizers. These acid are derived from a wide range of fruits like sugar cane, oranges, apples, and grapes. They are sought after and used because they can help exfoliate dead skin cells that sit on the skin’s uppermost layer to allow newer and healthier skin to be revealed. Fruit acids are mild chemical exfoliants that work by penetrating and breaking apart the uppermost layer of skin. They also provide a deep clean for your pores, starts cell renewal, and stimulates skin’s production of collagen and elastin. Because of this, fruits acids have been shown to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, reduce the roughness of skin, decrease skin pigmentation, and improve the appearance of sun damages skin. 
Fruit acids very powerful and also very safe when used correctly. A few things to remember are:
– Avoid them on the eye area
– Always wear sun protection (SPF) as fruit acids can make your skin more sensitive to UV rays.
– Avoid on open skin and sunburn
